Our caterpillars have changed into their chrysalis’! We just can’t wait to meet them in their new form!

Forest School looks forward to low tide season all year! The class walks from Carkeek to Golden Gardens discovering all sorts of creatures we don’t get to see the rest of the year! Geoducks, Anemones, Giant Volcano Barnacles, sea stars, Dungeness Crabs and Moon Snails! We also love it when the wind kicks up just right and we can try our hand at kit flying while we splash and chitter-chat with friends!

Garden planting is in full swing! We’ve finished our Seed Cycle Study and have moved onto Pollinators: Butterflies! We welcomed our new Painted Lady caterpillars this week and have been watching them grow and learning about their metamorphosis!🐛🦋

Things are busy-busy at the garden - we’re building new garden beds! On the beach we’ve finally come to low-LOW tide season and we’re having so much fun!

Make a wish! It’s dandelion week! What better way to talk about seeds and how they travel!

When we read great books, we’re inspired to make great art! 🌺

☀️ Appreciation for the longer days, blossoms popping, new salmon in the stream, painting on the beach, playing in the orchard, feeding the birds, singing together on a walk, and planting. The things childhood should be made of. 🌱

Outdoor preschool lends itself pretty easily to celebrating the earth everyday! We’ve had extra fun this week singing, painting and gardening! Happy Earth Day! 🌎

In classic northwest fashion the weather keeps us guessing minute to minute. But we know our community helpers don’t slow down when the sun runs to showers - thank you to our sanitation workers that show up week after week and give us a little friendly honk! ♻️ 🎺
