Sometimes the best way to capture a field of thousands is to focus on just one :)
I wanted to isolate the texture of this specific tulip while the morning dew was still clinging to the petals. Using a wide aperture, I compressed the colors of the field into a soft background gradient, letting the light on this single bud shine bright.

In this shot I focused on stacking the complex shapes of the hyacinth spikes to create a sense of scale, with the old windmill acting as the distant focal point.
It took me a few tries to get the height and the composition right. The focus stacking was a real challenge given the slight breeze that was swaying the flowers.
The gorgeous morning light also added some drama, bringing variations to the flower rows.

Any body going out to see the Perseids meteor shower tonight?
Last year we had an aurora show along with the meteors and I compiled this image. Truly a special night π«‘
While tonight won't have these conditions, we might see some really good meteors. Good luck (will need it) and clear skies (you'll have this)

Hello everyone! My name is Vaibhav ( ), and astrophotography is my passion.
My fascination with the night sky began with the humbling perspective of Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot." That feeling of our small place in a vast, star-filled universe is what pushes me to drive out at night to capture the stars with my camera. Early humans who looked up at the sky wondering about our place in the universe. Today we are capable of launching satellites and predicting the locations of the heavenly bodies with such accuracy, it's honestly magical. This is why I am honored to be collaborating with the to share some of my work.
The gear I use to capture my photographs is fairly simple as I focus primarily on wide field astrophotography. All my images are captured with a Nikon Z7 camera, with 20mm, 35mm and telephoto lenses. For my milkyway images, I use a portable star tracker from MoveShootMove. I usually shoot 30 exposures of 1 minute each and stack them to obtain the most detail. I blend this composite sky image with the foreground shot separately for my final composition. For post processing I use Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Pixinsight and StarStax. I have listed the image details below:
1. Milkyway and Observatories, Haleakala, Hawaii
2. Milkyway along the Highway, Tenerife, Spain
3. Yosemite Valley at Night
4. Moonrise at the Lighthouse, Netherlands
5. Exploding Bolide, PNW, USA
6. Perseids Meteor Shower with Aurora, Netherlands
7. Milkyway behind Mt St Helens, USA
8. Milkyway in the home of Zeus, Crete, Greece
9. Moonrise in Amsterdam
10. Partial Eclipse, Netherlands
I hope my unique perspective inspires a similar sense of awe in you.

When the planning goes just right! I met up with and to capture the in May, the , as it was rising on Sunday night behind the Sint Maarten church in Zaltbommel.i planned the alignment using and reached the spot on time and set up my equipment to capture the alignment. The weather was superb. I was even lucky to capture a plane flying past the moon at the perfect time. Couldn't have asked for a better outing.
