Happy New Year people of Rupee Bar!! 2025 was a no-brainer stellar year thanks to your consistent support, love, and class. Speaking of class, for New Years Eve we have sold out on reservations. HOWEVER, there will be VERY limited availability for outside seating for those brave enough to withstand the elements.
As for New Years Day, we will be open normal hours starting at 4pm. So do your thing and come party with us!

Hey folks, it’s Kevin here showing you how to make our fan favorite cocktail, the Curry Leaf Gimlet. If you’ve ever wondered how we make some of our amazing drinks, we’ll be posting recipe videos in the next months so stayed tuned. And, we are starting up a series of classes and co-ops so hit up our website to sign up today.
Curry Leaf Gimlet
1/2 oz curry leaf simple
3/4 oz lime juice
2 oz ghee washed gin
Dash of saline
For the curry leaf simple, we use Demerara sugar. It’s a less refined sugar and a better taste profile than white sugar. For the home bar, we recommend boiling just a cup or two of water and dissolving equal parts sugar into it. Fresh curry leaves can be found at most Asian food markets. Add a generous amount of them, remove from heat, and let steep until cool. Strain out the leaves and you’ve got magic.
Ghee is clarified butter and you can find it at most Asian markets and some grocery stores. You’ll only need one cup to make 1 liter of ghee gin. Heat the ghee on the stovetop until melted completely. Remove from the stove area - careful, alcohol can ignite on the stove - and pour into a large container with 1 liter of gin. Stir to combine, then pop it into the fridge overnight. Your gin will have a solid fat cap on top that you can either dig out or poke a hole in. Strain out any remaining solids and your gin is transformed!
We make a saline solution for our drinks, but a pinch of salt works too. Saline solution can be made by dissolving 1 Tbsp kosher salt in 1/4 cup water.
Fresh squeezed lime juice is a must!
No dehydrated lime garnish? No problem. The drink is great all on its own.
Now get mixing and let us know what you think!!
