How I avoided crashing out while weaning! The carousel version, in case my lengthy video the other day was a bit too wordy 😅 Let me know if you have any questions and make sure to share this with a breastfeeding friend! 💞

There’s a kind of exhaustion that comes from being needed allllll day! The constant questions, the touching, the multitasking, the noise, the mess, the feeling of never fully clocking out. You can absolutely love motherhood and still feel like you need a break.
And honestly, I think a lot of being “touched out” is not always physical. Sometimes it’s mental. It’s answering questions all day, keeping track of everyone’s needs, making every decision, remembering your book summer camps and dentist appointments and filling out that waiver. Remembering every little thing, and rarely getting a moment where your mind can fully rest.
A lot of mothers are not asking for grand gestures. They are craving moments of relief. Quiet. Help that does not need to be delegated first. Space to simply exist without someone needing something from them every second.
Sometimes the most loving thing you can say to an overwhelmed mom is, “I already took care of it.”
That kind of care invites a sense of ease into her wellbeing, and every mother deserves to feel supported in that way ❤️🙏🏻

What’s made you happier?
Mothers not making enough breastmilk? Surely the lack of parental leave, and the village, and support, and sleep, and work pressure, and high costs, and and and have nothing to do with it. Let’s blame the mom. 😠 Medicak conditions around breastmilk supply are very real. But you can’t have that conversation without noting how messed up the current situation is for setting up a successful breastfeeding experience. Breastfeeding does not occur in a vacuum.
Mothers, never forget you created life! You are SO powerful! It actually leaves me breathless when I think about how incredible it all is for too long. 💪🏻 Forever in awe of all mothers! Share with a mom who you admire ❤️
If you know me, you know I’m a little bit obsessed with making marshmallows. (Call me wild and crazy) These feature a special ingredient called Shatavari, a renowned herb used in Ayurveda. I use the powdered form and it easily mixes in. Shatavari is wonderfully supportive for those postpartum! It has so many benefits for your hormones, uterine recovery, lactation support and mood.
Ingredients
1 cup warm water
¼ cup gelatin powder
2-3 TBS shatavari powder
1 cup maple syrup or honey
1-2 tsp vanilla or almond extract (optional)
Directions
Add ½ cup warm water to a mixing bowl and add gelatin, whisking gently to combine. Allow the gelatin to ‘bloom’ in warm water. Boil the remaining 1/2 cup water with maple syrup in a saucepan and bring to boil, whisking continually. Add in shatavari powder until dissolved. Pour mixture and gelatin into a bowl (ideally the bowl attached to a stand mixer). Whisk for 12-15 minutes until the mixture is light and fluffy (ideally 4 times its original size). Add in vanilla. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and pour mixture in, smithing it out with spatula. Let rest for at least 4 hours at room temperature. Store in Tupperware on countertop for up to a week. Enjoy all the benefits!
This is not medical advice! Check with your care provider before adding in shatavari.
