Before the US Men’s Team defeated Australia in the World Cup last Friday, Seattle broke Australia’s standing Guinness World Record on Thursday for largest dim sum dinner, with 830 participants crushing the previous record of 764 by simultaneously eating dumplings at the Summer Kickoff organized by the Chinatown-International District Business Improvement Area. The dim sum was provided by Jade Garden.

Following the record attempt, the City of Seattle proclaimed June 18, 2026 to be Dim Sum Day.
