The food utility is a mechanism designed to pay for itself, while also benefiting participating organizations *and* providing long-term savings for our struggling health care systems.

➡️ The racial gap in homeownership in the U.S. is wide and worsening.
➡️ Black households are less likely to own homes (43% U.S. average in 2018) compared to white households (72%).
➡️ Systemic barriers have led to many Black households being financially unprepared to purchase a home.
----------
In partnership with the Black Home Initiative, convened by Civic Commons, NewImpact.care led a project focused on the challenge of better preparing low- to moderate-income Black households to purchase homes—as a key lever in building generational wealth. 🔑
Our tri-sector solution proposed a collaborative resource platform hub designed to better educate, enable, support, and empower Black homebuyers throughout their entire homebuying journey. 🔐
We invite you to explore our findings, recommendations, and a walk-through demo of our proposed tech platform: https://coda.io/-share/better-serving-black-homebuyers
This work represents the efforts of many great organizations with aligned interests, including the Washington Homeownership Resource Center (WHRC), Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, Zillow, Habitat for Humanity, and more. And we thank them for their contributions and continued work in this area.

Tri-Sector Innovation (TSI) is an unique approach to problem solving that repurposes existing resources, while aligning self-interests across all three sectors -- creating wins across the board!
The coolest thing about TSI? It can be applied across ALL impact areas, including the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
Food insecurity? ✅
Housing insecurity? ✅
Climate action? ✅
Workforce equality? ✅
When you combine resources across sectors, imagine what can be done!

Young veterans face a number of challenges when they leave active service, from administrative bottlenecks to navigating the shift from military to civilian culture. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
While thousands of organizations and resources exist to help and support them, navigating the options can become its own unique challenge.
NewImpact.care, in partnership with USO and support from the Schultz Family Foundation, used Tri-Sector Innovation to explore ways to leverage existing resources to create a more effective transition process, ensuring that junior enlisted service members are able to access the support they deserve *and* achieve greater post-service career outcomes.
We share our findings on our project page, along with our work in other impact areas.

College isn’t for everyone.
Apprenticeship programs can offer a great alternative for unlocking access into career pathways.
But how can we ensure equitable access to high-quality apprenticeship programs?
Our NewImpact consulting team, with support from the Schultz Family Foundation, recently completed a project exploring the supply-side challenge of expanding availability of apprenticeships into more fields and industries, with a focus on ensuring equitable access for BIPOC young adults.
We invite you to read our findings, which are shared from our catalyst project page, along with our other recent projects.
