What’s Killing Warzone/Gaming and Streaming?
It’s no secret that Warzone and streaming aren’t what they used to be. The game that once brought insane hype, competitive energy, and real skill-based gameplay has turned into a playground for two things: bot lobbies and blatant cheaters.
Every day, you see big-time streamers casually dropping 20-30 kills like it’s nothing, but when you actually watch who they’re frying, it’s clear—low-level, zero-awareness bots that barely shoot back. And these same streamers act like they’re gods of the game, hyping up their “skill” while conveniently ignoring the fact that their lobbies are handpicked and manipulated to make them look unstoppable.
Then, on the other side, you’ve got the hackers. The ones who don’t even try to hide it anymore. They’re coming out openly admitting how easy it is to cheat, how the anti-cheat is a joke, and worst of all—how some believe the devs are in on it, turning a blind eye because it keeps the money flowing. Aim assist abuse, wall hacks, VPN exploits—it’s all there, and it’s killing any real competition.
Meanwhile, us normal players? We get thrown into lobbies full of cracked-out pros and rage hackers, where we can’t even turn a corner before getting beamed. There’s no fun in that. We aren’t getting easy bot lobbies to farm kills for content. We aren’t making highlight reels of effortless wins. Instead, we’re stuck in sweatfest lobbies where even casual games feel like a ranked tournament. And what does that mean for smaller streamers? Low views, no exposure, and a game that feels more like a chore than something enjoyable.
And let’s be real—Warzone isn’t the only game suffering from this. It seems like every competitive multiplayer game is getting ruined by people who feel the need to cheat just to look good and gain instant fame. It’s like a mental illness at this point—people would rather fake their way to the top than actually get better. And the worst part? It’s so common now that it’s almost expected.
What used to be a game that rewarded skill and grinding now just feels stale. It’s hard to even pick up the controller, let alone go live, knowing the lobbies are either flooded with bots for fake content or hackers who just don’t care. Streaming used to be about moments of hype, real battles, and competitive gameplay. Now? It’s just the same recycled nonsense over and over.
The passion for gaming is dying, and unless something changes, Warzone—and streaming as a whole—is only going to keep getting worse.
What do y’all think? Have you lost the love for it too?
