Scranton Firefighters

Last night Local 60 members celebrated the recent retirements of members: Capt Golden, Chf Stine, Chf Scocozzo, Chf Warner, Pvt Bartlebaugh, amd Pvt Keegan. Hosted at the Waldorf, members and retired members came to celebrate. We also took time to honor our Brother Lt Hopkins, who passed from a job related cancer last year prior to being able to retire.

Local 60 shares in mourning the loss of WBFD Local 104 member Mike Crawford. Please keep Mike, his family, and the members of WBFD in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Local 60 Honor Guard, headed by member Carlos Perez, participated in the annual PennDot workers memorial along with members of Scranton Central Labor Union today.

PennDOT honors fallen workers Since 1972, 11 PennDOT District 4 employees who went to work in the morning planning to return home to their families at the end of their shifts never made it. They were killed while doing their jobs.

Members from Eastern PA met in Scranton today to attend the Eastern Meeting. Thank you to all who attended, and thank you to the PPFFA EBoard for continuing to push for health and safety initiatives for all firefighters!

May is Mental Health Awareness and Local 60 will be selling shirts to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This project was again headed by Local 60’s own Eric Kopa.
