PLEASE SHARE! As reported in this morning's editorials in the Scranton times/Tribune by a Dunmore resident, on Dec. 10 a majority of Scranton City Council opposed the expansion of Keystone Sanitary Landfill which included Councilman Joe Wechsler saying: "It is not right that a decision made in Dunmore may impact our lives with us not having any say in the matter." The editorial then states "It's amazing how when Scranton council members tried passing the commuter tax, they had no concern about nonresidents who had no say in the matter."

PLEASE SHARE! A City in the throes of its last breadth is trying to take down the surrounding communities. Senator Yudichak wants to form regional police forces. That means taking control of the personnel, the scheduling, and most importantly, the tax dollars, away from the local governments. Is there interest in stopping this?

PLEASE SHARE! In order to scare the commuters and stop them from fighting the increase in the Local Service Tax from $52.00 to $156.00 per year, the City had turned their parking meters into light sabers. The City has the upper hand right now, and our choices are as follows: a) fight their petition to the County Courts to stop the LST increase; b) raise the necessary funding to challenge the constitutionality of the law; c) consider an organized boycott and encourage businesses to move out of the city. What is your pleasure?

PLEASE SHARE! The City Council of Scranton will petition the Lackawanna Common Pleas Court to allow them to raise the Local Service Tax from $52.00 to $156.00. How many of the 22,566 commuters are happy with this move? So far, only 120 have donated to our cause of stopping this "No Taxation Without Representation" attempt. If we are to fight and be successful, we need more support. Send donations to LCAB Stop Scranton, 739 Penn Ave, Mayfield, PA 18433. PLEASE SHARE! The amendments to Act 47 have pitted the high earners against the middle class. This legislation allows the City of Scranton to petition the court for a 1% wage tax (worker making $100,000.00 will pay $1,000.00, worker making $25,000.00 will pay $250.00) or tripling the Local Service Tax from $52.00 to $156.00 ( worker making $100,000 will see an increase of $104.00-worker making $25,000 will see increase of $104.00) That's fair! The legislature has divided the commuters. To the high income that's a bargain. To those in the middle and at the lower end, well, you call the shot! Are we going to stand still and accept this violation of "No Taxation Without Representation?" It's up to you. Get involved!

PLEASE SHARE! In a democracy, one must always be on their guard, or else some entity will take away your rights. The word is that the Mayor and City Council are going to propose to the court that they be given permission to raise the Local Service Tax from $52.00 to $156.00. Again, this is a direct assault on the commuters right to have its representatives tax them, as the non-residents do not have any say in the governing of the City. If we go to court it will cost money. Send donation to LCAB Stop Scranton, 739 Penn Ave, Mayfield, PA 18433.

PLEASE SHARE! I have some Good News and Some Bad News. The Good News is that according to today's Times/Tribune reported that the Mayor of Scranton has stated the City likely won't pursue an Act 205 commuter tax for 2015 now that a new state law requires a municipality to impose such an extra wage tax on both resident and non-residents. The Bad News is that there was no mention of the Act 47 earned income tax or the ,local service tax being eliminated. We may still have a fight on our hands. Send donations to LCAB Stop Scranton, 739 Penn Ave Mayfield PA 18433.

PLEASE SHARE! Beware of the decoy called Act 47 and its sister Act 205. Both are designed to lure non-residents and the surrounding communities into thinking their hard earned wages going to Scranton to help the City get out of the distressed status. In reality, it is the beginning of a clever plan to start expanding the tax base of Scranton to channel money from the surrounding communities to the City. Fight this attempt now, or you will end up paying much more in the near future. Donate to LCAB Stop Scranton, 739 Penn Ave, Mayfield, PA 18433. You have to fight to keep your local communities.

PLEASE SHARE! The Hunger Games is the voracious appetite of the Capitol of Panem (Scranton) requiring a reaping (wage or local service tax, or both) from the surrounding districts (non-resident communities). But beware of the Mockingjay, the symbol of the Rebellion. Join the fight against Panem. Send contributions to LCAB Stop Scranton, 739 Penn Ave, Mayfield, PA 18433.

PLEASE SHARE! They were afraid to move into the City. It was no longer considered a friendly place to work or establish a business. The Great White Council was lurking to sink its teeth into the wages of the commuters. It was time to fight the terror of the deep. Send donations to your lifesaver at LCAB Stop Scranton, 739 Penn Ave, Mayfield PA 18433. Let the hunt begin.

PLEASE SHARE! Their barn is empty because their decisions throughout the years were careless. They will now seek to destroy a cherished principle of our country's founders, "No Taxation Without Representation." They will extract their wages of the living commuters to sustain their empty coffers. We must unite to fight the Stalking Dead! Send donations to LCAB Stop Scranton, 739 Penn Ave, Mayfield PA 18433. If all 22,566 commuters unite, we will drive a stake through the hearts of The Stalking Dead!
