The Supreme Court is about to hear a case regarding the legality of Trump sending the National Guard into Illinois against the wishes of Governor Pritzker. Interfaith Alliance has filed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in Trump v. Illinois, urging SCOTUS to uphold a federal judge’s ruling that prohibits the Trump administration from deploying the National Guard to Illinois. As an interfaith organization, we believe the right to peaceful protest is essential to protecting religious freedom. For many communities of faith, nonviolent protest is a sacred religious practice protected by the Constitution.
