Kids can join our friends from the Pocono Environmental Education Center to learn about how we perceive the world around us. We'll have plenty of fun activities and that teach us how to use our five senses to understand our environment. 🌲

In our collection of Mayor Robert H. McKune's papers, the Reference Department discovered two invitations for clam bakes. The clam bake for citizens of Carbondale was held at Crystal Lake. A newspaper article published in the Scranton Republican noted that ten thousand clams were eaten after being prepared in over a "half dozen ways for eating." In addition, no alcohol was served at the event. The clam bake on Dickson's Island was likely in support of the Exempt Fireman's Association chapter located in Binghamton or Hornellsville, New York.
