So you may have noticed I haven’t been super active online recently, I’ve been taking gigs here and there, but to be so honest with you I haven’t wanted to post any photos from anything because I’ve been so upset with my body lately

Things I’ve always been; plus sized & super depressed
This past year I *finally* found my perfect med concoction that made my anxiety and depression manageable, but it’s also makes it impossible to lose any weight and I’ve definitely gained some since starting it

While I’m glad my depression is no longer completely debilitating, it’s hard to keep it at bay when I’m constantly bombarded by ozempic / GLP1 ads or formerly plus size celebrities who “made an amazing transformation by no longer being fat”

It’s hard to stay body positive when the world constantly echos your mothers sentiment of “it would look better if you lost 5 lbs”

I’m tired. Burlesque was supposed to feel like a safe space for me but since my body was put on blast via podcast…2 years ago now (?) it hasn’t felt safe and I haven’t felt confident, despite what you might see on stage

Maybe that’s why I haven’t been active online. Idk. I’m just trying to be OK & maybe putting it out there will help, maybe I’m just opening myself up to more pain by being vulnerable on main

Between work, odd jobs, & night time classes I’ve been so busy but I’ll be back in the scene soon enough I promise 😘

Dave is currently in treatment for cancer and hasn’t been able to work, and the financial strain has started to build. He’s always been someone who shows up for the people in his life — his friends, his band, and his family — and now it’s our turn to show up for him.
