You can also listen live to local Fire & EMS audio, just like we do when we’re keeping track of calls around the area.
🚂LISTEN TO BIG BOY ON 570FireRadio!🚂
Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 is expected to pass through Avoca, Duryea, and part of Pittston three times, and Reading & Northern 2102 is expected to pass through twice. For railfans, scanner listeners, and anyone watching from Avoca, Duryea, Pittston, or anywhere else in Upper Luzerne County, it should be quite the day.
For the occasion, 570FireRadio has added local Norfolk Southern and Reading & Northern railroad radio channels as a special promo for listeners and railfans following today’s movements.
Our receiver is located near the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, giving us solid coverage of local rail traffic from around Taylor up toward Laurel Run, including the Pittston Yard area. You should start hearing steam related radio traffic around 11am.
Whether you’re trackside or following along from home, you can listen to some of the local railroad radio traffic right from the 570FireRadio app.
570FireRadio normally provides live scanner audio for Lackawanna and Luzerne County Fire & EMS, but today we’re adding railroad audio for one of the biggest steam days NEPA has seen in a long time.
