We had a great time at our 30th year celebration last evening at East Cliff Brewery. It was great to see many friends, past staff members, clients (old and current) and associate firms. Dave spoke of the importance of Human Factors in product design, particularly in products developed for the sick and elderly.

Technology can vastly improve our lives, but only if we can use the technology in an intuitive, predictable, and comfortable way. Intuitive button layouts, smooth contours to improve comfort, and legible print are examples of features that can make a huge difference to the usability of a medical product.

We'd like to congratulate Dave on successfully bringing a human-centered perspective to the panel discussion!

In spite of the fact that IDE is in Scotts Valley and the Scotts are known for their love of plaid, it was simply an awkward moment when engineering manager Dave Diepersloot and Design Director Raphael Hebert arrived on the red carpet this morning with the same plaid outfits.
