🌸 From seedling to stunning. 🌸

We planted this cherry tree as a symbol of growth, resilience, and our commitment to the Hamilton Hill community. Today, it stands in full bloom a beautiful reminder that when we invest in our neighborhood, amazing things can happen.

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission of creating spaces where art, culture, nature, and community can thrive.

We can’t wait to see what continues to bloom next.

Introducing BMC Artistic Director Hettie Barnhill!

“Movement is essential. We are not stagnant being. Change, life, and progress require action. Dance connects us to our past, our inner voice, and our bodies while also propelling us forward. Many of the most powerful moments in history began with a movement.“

Working with this incredible group of artists has reaffirmed that I am exactly where I am meant to be. BMC has brought more love, depth, meaningful conversations, friendship, and humility into my life. I am excited to choreograph new work and to present our first full dance concert here in the Capital Region.

Fun Fact:
Hettie’s favorite genre of music changes often, but right now it is African Gospel.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Hamilton Hill Arts Center has been awarded $2 million from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA)! This transformational investment will go towards the development of our cultural campus, expand opportunities for artists and audiences, and ensure our cultural resources continue to serve the community for generations to come. Thank you to NYSCA and all who support our mission!

đź’§ HELP KEEP OUR VOLUNTEERS & PERFORMERS HYDRATED! đź’§

As we prepare for Schenectady's longest-running Juneteenth Celebration, we're asking our community to help us by donating cases of bottled water for our volunteers, performers, workshop presenters, and event staff.

With hundreds of participants and a full day of activities, staying hydrated is essential to making this celebration a success!

Every case helps and is greatly appreciated.

If you would like to donate water or make another in-kind contribution, please contact us at 518-313-2556 or send us a message at [email protected].

Thank you for helping us celebrate freedom, culture, community, and history together!
