Many adults on the autism spectrum with higher support needs lack meaningful opportunities and live narrow, restricted lives.
Building bigger lives for adults with higher support needs, by offering meaningful supported activities with our community partners throughout New York's Capital Region. After age 21, there is a drastic reduction in available services despite their significant needs. The current support system model is unable to meet these unique challenges, but we believe a new model is possible. We help our community partners offer projects with built-in social and learning opportunities. In these supported environments, individuals can utilize their talents, develop new skills, and experience fuller lives. Our vision is a community filled with integrated living, working, and learning opportunities that support the unique strengths of the adults we serve.

Time to close down our PerBennial garden at the Edward St/Cohoes Community Garden. We harvested the last of the perennial flowers and wildflowers. Participants made bouquets and paper vases at our Thursday Lunch and Learn to share with someone special.

Some new faces at Lunch and Learn today - we had a large group of participants making bouquets and custom wraps. There was a choice of paper and tape ribbon with personalized gift tags for the flower receivers. The flowers were harvested from our "PerBennial" Garden - the Black-Eyed Susans are plentiful and in full bloom.

This week's Mosaic Village Lunch and Learn was inspired by a donation of seeding planters from a neighbor, a project in the works of growing herbs, and a stash of dried roses accumulated from multiple birthdays in need of a destiny.
Participants made Pot Pourri bags to take home and potted herb tops (mint, lavender, and lemon balm) with hopes they will take root to be used in future planting projects. Stay tuned!
