This Memorial Day, The Legal Project honors the fallen heroes who served and sacrificed for our nation. We are grateful for their courage and committed to remembering their legacy.

TOMORROW (5/15) - The Legal Project will be in attendance at the Sycamore Collaborative food pantry to offer information about our no-cost civil legal services and programs!

Sycamore Collaborative's food pantry is the largest source of free, healthy food for Schenectady County residents. Open year round on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 to 11:30 AM, they provide shelf-stable pantry necessities, fresh produce and limited baby/personal care items.

On Saturday, May 2nd, The Legal Project’s Veterans Program team members Steven Kessler and Jason Venditti supported the 2026 Columbia-Greene Veteran Stand Down at the Historic Catskill Point in Catskill, New York!

Steven and Jason engaged with veterans and community members to share program information, offering a deeper understanding of the services and assistance we provide to veterans in our communities.

The shortage of legal guardians is a growing crisis across New York State. We think it's time for action.

An annual investment of $15 million through the Good Guardianship Act would ensure those in need—older adults, people with disabilities and others who have no family or resources—don't go unsupported.

Calling all volunteers! The Capital Region Sanctuary Coalition and NYIC are holding an in-person training for those interested in learning how to prepare family preparedness forms for vulnerable community members or yourself.

This training takes place on April 19, 2026 from 10AM - 4PM, snacks and lunch provided. The location will be emailed to attendees 24 hours prior to the event.
