Just when I thought things were going uphill, life throws a curveball at me.
Doesn’t look like we will be making any racing for at least 2-3 weeks unfortunately after our truck got caught in a collision from a car stopping in the middle of the highway due to missing their exit. We unfortunately are out of commission until we get it back from the collision shop.

Disappointed does not even begin to describe the full extent of this.

I hope to be back soon.

Seems like it’s been nonstop outside of the car, but we were able to get our car fixed up from the great group of guys at DKM Fabrication.
Now it’s time to get things ready to get back on track! Being the one man show and my current personal schedule, it won’t be this weekend but hopefully with the weekend giving me plenty of time we will be back out next Friday August 14th up at Albany-Saratoga Speedway

Been busy and haven’t been able to post much from our last race.
Unfortunately, we have had a string of some bad luck the past 2 weeks and just haven’t gotten chances to get it right. Went out for hot laps our last race at Glen Ridge and discovered there was more grip higher up than on the low side where it was slick. I made a mistake and got too high close to the cushion and lost control resulting in the car looping around with the rear end backing into the outside wall. From what I found besides it damaging the rear bumper and its spuds, it also bent the panhard mount and broke the Left rear birdcage.
Working 2 jobs, it was hard to get to the car that same week to repair it as it’s been a real busy schedule and that caused me to be behind schedule. The car is ready to be brought to DKM to get fixed up in hopes we can be back out on track in the next couple weeks.

Mistakes happen but that’s how you learn!

It’s finally race day, and we’re headed to Glen Ridge Motorsports Park! After putting in the work all week, we’re ready to hit the track and see what we can do.

One of those nights you just want to put behind you.

The track was slick from the drop of the green. We tried a new gear setup and spun in hot laps working the bottom. Moved to the top and found a little more grip, but still weren't where we needed to be.

The heat race actually started off pretty decent, but about halfway through after some contact the car just wouldn't plant on the right side. We kept fighting to get it to rotate, and every time it finally did, it'd snap loose and keep coming around. After the race we found what we think was the issue, right front wasn't holding air. Thought we had a spare ready to go, but unfortunately we didn't.

Never thought l'd say this, but the rain ending the night before the feature probably saved us from making things worse. We'll get everything fixed up this week, regroup, and come back ready to chase a better result next time.

After efforts to fix some damage throughout the week while prepping everything to get ready for our run tomorrow up at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, we determined that the damage requires more extensive repairs and are making the call to sit out this weekend.

Our main focus this week is to get the damage repaired and are currently working on getting the car to the right place to get everything fixed.
If all goes right, we hope to be back on track next weekend!

🏁 Back to Glen Ridge… Weather Permitting! 🏁

This weekend, Mecca Motorsports is scheduled to return to Glen Ridge Motorsports Park for the first time since 2024!

We’re excited to get back to a track we haven’t raced at in over a year and had great success at in our slingshot years so we can see what we can do. Now we’re just hoping Mother Nature cooperates so we can get the show in.
