We are a FOR-PROFIT business, and while our doors are open to the public through training, school, and other services, there is an impact you may not see.

Behind the scenes are 27 underdogs who call our kennels home. Who call Kait their Mom. A team who loves them endlessly. This has been many years of protecting the ones we know are truly misunderstood in an industry where it’s easy to be misplaced or judged…

These dogs have behavioral and emotional needs that make traditional companion homes unsafe or unrealistic for them. Luckily, they found their way to us — a place where they are understood, supported, and safe.

We are committed to giving them the best, most comfortable life possible. That means continuing to build their confidence, meet their individual needs, and provide the everyday care they deserve.

Every time you choose our training, school, or other services, you are helping provide beds, cots, blankets, toys, treats, food, enrichment, and daily care for our pack.

Remember Draven?! Here’s what his trainer Emma LeBlanc had to say about their 10 weeks together!!🙏

Drae and his family came to Personal Paws frustrated, discouraged and defeated after working with a trainer who said they couldn’t help him because he wasn’t food motivated in their sessions. They said he was a “tough dog,” and that they should accept the fact that Drae would have to live in a “bubble” because of his reactivity. It became clear that they needed a healthy reset, so they committed to a 10 week Rehab Retreat. Reactivity is often a dirty word, but the reality is, the behaviors on display were due to insecurity, lack of confidence, exposure, consistent structure, leadership, clarity and trust. We took our time together, building a relationship at Draven’s pace, and focused on helping him to be confident, learn to self regulate, and look for leadership instead of letting his emotions take the wheel. Watching him change his mindset, open up and bloom into a joyful, fear-free, curious individual was such a beautiful and rewarding process for the both of us. I am extremely proud of the progress Draven made in our program, and am excited to continue working closely with his family to ensure their relationships and handling skills mirror the consistent expectations he thrived in under our care.
