John (Giovanni) came from a traditional Italian family growing up surrounded by relatives and lots of home made food.
His focus on food started at a very young age with his mother, father, brother and sisters all working at their family restaurants, pizzerias and bakeries. Under their guidance he was inspired to open Prima Pizzeria in 1985 and Mario's Restaurant in 1998 with his wife Katrina.
