We need to have some real talk:
First looks.
I have seen a huge mix lately of couples who want to do a first look and those who don’t! Deciding whether or not to have a first look can be one of the most difficult decisions when it comes to timeline planning. Here are some of my favorite pros when it comes to first looks:

•More time with your significant other(you will be surprised how very little alone time you have on your wedding day), this not only ensures you can savor the moment when your partner sees you for the first time, but it also usually helps bring the nerves down before the ceremony starts.

•More photos! Most of the time when a first look is done, we’re able to also do couple portraits, bridal party portraits, and family portraits all before the ceremony begins.

•You get to enjoy your cocktail hour. You spend so much time and effort planning your wedding, you should get to enjoy it to its fullest! It also gives you more time to mingle with your guest, or just take a private moment between you and your spouse after the ceremony.

There are plenty of reasons to not do a first look too(we can’t forget the iconic first look with each other at the aisle), but everyone and every wedding is different. Are you(or did you) doing a first look? Why or why not?🤔💍🤍

I still remember this beautiful session. The sun was shining, the pup stole the show(as he should obviously), and we talked about their love story and Taylor Swift the whole time. There’s so many reasons I love what I do, this is just some of the many🥰💍🤍

“Can you take photos of my kids running through a field?”
You mean I get to capture them living their whimsy/fairytale dreams?! Don’t mind if I do😍🤍

A beautiful reminder that there are no rules to engagement sessions! They should reflect YOU as a couple. If that means including your fur baby, going to your favorite bar, and wearing your favorite teams jerseys through half of the session, I’m here for all of it😍💍

You know what? GOOD. My job is to capture your people as they are now, full personality included! I like to capture a mix of posed and candid moments. Sometimes the best way to get a genuine smile is through some of the silliest prompts(and you may even find the candid photos are your favorites in the end😉) Kids will be kids, let their smiles shine the best way they know how🤍
