Today marked our last sorting Saturday and the end of our 2026 food drive! Thank you to the many businesses, organizations and volunteers who stepped up to help donate items, sort food, deliver to pantries, and so much more. We collected a total of about 25,000 pounds of food throughout this year’s drive that was provided to food providers across Schenectady County. Happy ! Today’s sorting Saturday for was a huge success. A special thank you to the Upper Union NA that donated 10 (yes 10!) car loads of food for our collection drive. In addition to our regular biweekly pickup at collection sites across the county, that amounted to 10,000 pounds of food bringing us closer to our 30,000 total goal. The drive runs through April 17, which is quickly approaching, so please help to donate and support those in need! www.schenectadyshares.org

Happening this Friday! Bring a non-perishable food donation (or two or three) to Frog Alley on Friday evening and get your cover charge waived for the night while helping to support Schenectady residents in need. We are looking to ramp up donations before our food drive ends on April 17!

Shining another spotlight on the generous efforts and support of the Schenectady Police Department and Benson's Pet Center that recently donated pet food to Schenectady Shares to deliver to food pantries in Schenectady County for individuals and families to help feed their pets as well. Pets are family too and this is neighbors helping neighbors! 🐶🐱
