Termite Swarmer. Termites and Carpenter Ants grow wings in the spring and fly away to look for other conducive conditions needed to start a new colony. We have 2 types of Termites here in the Northwest, along with Carpenter Ants & 2 species of Wood Beetles.
The most common conducive conditions I come across are missing v***r barrier in crawlspace, earth to wood contact around the exterior of homes, and firewood storage. However, any conditions allowing wood moisture to exceed about 20% is a conducive condition.
