Memorial Day isn't just the start of summer. It's a day we set aside to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. As a veteran-owned company, that hits close to home for us!

We've been a little quiet on here... but trust us, it's been anything but quiet in the office. 😅

With federal Q3 rolling and Q4 just around the corner (September 30 fiscal year-end, for those keeping score), the VSS team has been deep in proposals, sourcing, and making sure our partners and customers are covered going into the second half of the year.

This time of year always has a certain energy to it in our world! Agencies are finalizing budgets, opportunities moving fast, and a lot of moving parts to keep in line. We wouldn't have it any other way.

South Georgia is facing one of the most serious wildfire emergencies in state history right now. The Highway 82 Fire in Brantley County and the Pineland Road Fire have burned more than 50,000 acres, with containment still below 10%. Governor Kemp has declared a State of Emergency for 91 counties, and hundreds of firefighters are working around the clock.

Smoke has already drifted into our backyard, affecting air quality across the Savannah River Valley and the Lowcountry. If you're sensitive to smoke, please take the necessary precautions!

Wild week in global supply chain news. A conflict near the Strait of Hormuz is causing the biggest shipping disruption in years. Ships rerouting around Africa, diesel spiking, costs climbing.

Most people don't think about logistics until something doesn't show up. But there are a LOT of people working really hard right now to make sure things do. 🙌

Grateful for everyone in this industry keeping it moving. 🚢📦

45 days. That's how long a lot of federal workers went without a paycheck and most of them never stopped showing up.

That kind of dedication is something we deeply respect. At VSS, we work alongside the federal workforce every day, and moments like this remind us why we do what we do.
