Today’s is “favorite”!

One of my favorite things about pottery is how the glaze gathers and sometimes drips. I love layering glazes and watching how they change as they get thinner or thicker. The Marbled Mugs allow me to really lean into this because there is so much exposed clay to catch the glaze before it runs off the piece.

What is behind these woven pieces? Planning! I draw out patterns so I can more easily mimic them on the clay. Despite weaving baskets since I was five, these pieces have forced me to think very differently about patterns I’ve been familiar with for practically my whole life!

These pieces will be apart of an update in late March or early April!

She is apart of a small collection I am putting together. More information coming soon!

And just to clarify: the clay I have been using is amazing, it just means alot of learning and testing that I’ve already done with a different clay. So I’ve chosen to go back to what I know for my sanity, not because I found any functional issues with the new clay.
