Lester for Labor

Last night, over 125,000 Georgians cast their votes in support of the reform-minded and results-oriented message we brought to the Labor Commissioner race. And while the results did not come in as we hoped, I am so incredibly proud of the grassroots campaign we built together.

Here’s what I know comes next: Even though I won’t be the Nominee for Labor Commissioner, the work we started will continue. I’ll be standing alongside my fellow Democrats to make sure we flip Georgia blue this coming November, wherever and whatever it takes.

I am deeply honored to have earned the endorsement of the Georgia Association of Educators in our campaign for Commissioner of Labor. Our state's educators know better than anyone that the classroom is the first stop on the journey to true economic opportunity, and I'll make sure our Department of Labor always remembers the importance of education.
