2023- silver Springs, Florida. The park has many of these monkeys, Rhesus Macaque. They are becoming quite a problem. Originally brought in for the first Tarzan movie, they didn’t think the monkeys could swim. They filmed on a little island there. They could and now there’s hundreds of them Tourists are not smart enough to stay away from them, even with plenty of warning signs posted.
If they bite you or scratch you, you could have serious problems, including die. The authorities are not sure what to do about this continuing problem.
I myself witnessed a tourist in a kayak get a little too close to a branch over the waterline, and saw a monkey go from the top of that tree down to almost get this guy in a heartbeat. Couldn’t believe how fast!
That aside, they’re magnificent to watch and film! Was nervous with my high-end equipment in a kayak, and it took a long time before I caught up to the monkeys, but eventually it paid off. Late afternoon sunlight!

Frank Zappa - 1980 Halloween at the Academy of Music in New York City.
I was very fortunate to see Frank Zappa two nights in a row. First at Stony Brook on Long Island then, here, where I took this photo, at The Academy of Music in New York City. The Academy of music later became the Palladium.
He complained that he had a cold, and started the show with a sweater on however It didn’t detract from the incredible performances. When he took the sweater off, he was wearing a New York City T-shirt.
Steve Vai was one of the new members of the band and I remember him saying, as he introduced Vai that he was an Italian in training! Rumor has it that Zappa picked Vai directly out of Berklee College of Music just before I went there and 82.
Frank Zappa‘s music had a profound influence on me and my direction as a musician and composer!
This is a 20x30 - Framed high gloss MetalPrint in a Black Wedge Float Frame with Sharp Square Corners.
Float Frames are mounted with a 1/4" space between the frame and the print, so that the print appears to be floating within the frame. Each genuine solid wood moulding is carefully inspected to meet the gallery quality standard.
I love these float frames, they look amazing!
