practicing the way is a great book that teaches us to slow down, be present and live the way Jesus did.

Jesus was never rushed, nor did he suffer from anxiety. The rhythm of life which he practiced was being 100% absolutely present with those around him. And he was intentional with carving out time to be in solitude. During his solitude time, he spent time praying to his heavenly father.

If you feel like life Ben flying by too fast and you just need a break. This is your side, your reminder to slow down, catch the rhythm of life that Jesus came to bring.

Back Porch Leadership — A message to the fathers with children heading back to school 🎒✏️🤓📓. Lead like you were meant to.

As fathers, we are called to lead our kids, protect our kids, prepare our kids, pray for our kids, and love our kids.

We can’t always be with our children. We can’t walk into every classroom with them, sit beside them at lunch, or be there for every challenge they face. But we can prepare them before they walk out the door and remind them that God goes with them.

As your children head back to school, pray this blessing over them:

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.” — Numbers 6:24–25

If your child is nervous or afraid about starting school, remind them:

“Do not be afraid, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.” — Isaiah 41:10

If your child is worried about schoolwork, tests, or keeping up with their studies, remind them:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13

Fathers, pray for your children. 🙏

Pray over their classrooms.
Pray over their teachers.
Pray over their friendships.
Pray over their decisions.
Pray over their protection.
Pray that they have courage to stand for what is right.
Most importantly, pray that they continue to grow in their relationship with Christ.

We may not always be able to go with them, but God does.

Send them out knowing they are loved, prepared, prayed for, and never alone. 🙏🏽 🎒

Back Porch Leadership — where leaders go to grow.

Titus 2:11-14. The Forge’s verse.

11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. 14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

Similar to Back Porch, but this is a deeper dive on faith development. We will be meeting the first and third Wednesday of the month which leaves the fourth Wednesday still open for Back Porch.
