How are you doing with the fire situation?? Are you ready to go if the notice comes to evacuate? In a minute or need some time. I packed to be ready to go with basics. The motorhome is still at the house from last weekend at Berryessa. Plugged in and set. My littles (pets) stuff are loaded. Took a breath and gathered what was ready in my garden. Watered extra. Still don’t feel ready.
Saving grace is we get to cook for Cal Fire. Having a purpose is keeping me distracted in a positive direction. Moving my mind toward “yay” we get to cook for these sooooo hard working, extremely tired fire fighters.

Starting From Scratch Café’s first Vegan biscuits and gravy, all from scratch. Biscuits loaded with Miyoko’s butter, cashew milk and our white bean patty in the gravy.
Project ready for the non vegan taste test. Their faces were priceless!!

Super amazing visit at the Cafe today. We had a catering at Redwood Empire Food Bank. Luncheon for supporting businesses. They requested vegan options. Done. The event planner Melannie from Miyoko’s attended. They make cultured vegan butter and cheese. I use their butter. It’s the best. Made gluten free vegan corn muffins with the Miyoko’s butter. She asked about the vegan sandwiches. They told her about me. I was so happy they did. She came in the cafe to find me. We had a great talk. I said Miyoko has a book right? “Homemade Vegan Pantry”. Yes! I have that book and love it. The rest of the story is we get samples of new products and a tour of the facility in Petaluma. Plus a growing relationship. Inspiration at its best. Thank you Melannie for coming in today. You made my day!
