Dear Donors and Friends,
The first month of my Fellowship at the Swiss-California Foundation is almost over! πΊπΈπ¨π
In my first weeks here, I had the opportunity to meet very interesting and engaged people from our partner organizations, as well as some of our highly valued donors! I am looking forward to the projects I am going to be involved in, contributing to building an exchange between Switzerland and California.
During the week, I am moving between Santa Rosa and San Francisco. Contact me to know what I am currently working on or just to have a chat over lunch or coffee!
All the best,
Fabienne

Eleven former Fellows came together yesterday in beautiful Lucerne, Switzerland. We were even joined by Silvan, our first-ever Fellow from 2001/02. With Fabienne joining as our 19th Fellow, we look forward to celebrating the 20-year anniversary of our organization in the coming year. π¨ππΊπΈ

As my Fellowship is slowly coming to an end, we are announcing groundbreaking changes to the Swiss-California Foundation. π¨ππΊπΈ
My successor, Fabienne, will be the first Fellow who will live and work in the city of San Francisco. After 18 years of successful operations in Santa Rosa, we feel that the time has come to relocate the program to a younger, even more dynamic environment. As of September 2019 and after an initial transition phase, our Fellow will work closely with various partner organizations from the public and private sector, most of which have a direct connection to Switzerland. We continue to be extremely thankful for the valuable support our Fellows are receiving every year. Find out more about the environment which we have created in this newsletter.
Keep in touch,
Laurin

"Iβm happy to be part of the Swiss-California Foundation community. After my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, I am now completing my Masters in International Affaris at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). Orginally from Bern, I enjoy getting to know different places and cultures. I have lived and worked in Colombia, New York and Brazil, gaining valuable professional and personal experience. Iβm looking forward to contributing to the advancement of the Foundation."

As you can see, I had a lot of fun attending my university conference in New York City. Thanks to HSG Alumni for having me, and thanks to a great organizing committee for making such an exciting event happen. With my year in the U.S. slowly coming to an end, I'm incredibly grateful for the countless unforgettable experiences I've had so far! π¨ππΊπΈ

Great trip to Washington D.C., where I met with Swiss Ambassador to the U.S., Martin Dahinden, to discuss my future career plans. Besides, I visited the Swiss restaurant Stable DC, where fondue can be enjoyed all year round! π¨π
