Today we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of our newest Savvy Savings Seniors cohort! What an incredible experience learning together, sharing resources, and empowering older adults with the knowledge and tools to maximize benefits, strengthen financial security, and protect themselves from scams and fraud.

A heartfelt thank you to each participant for your enthusiasm, thoughtful participation, and commitment to investing in your future. Your engagement made this workshop series a wonderful success.

Cal/OSHA recuerda a los empleadores: se esperan temperaturas de tres dígitos esta semana. Hay avisos de calor y vigilancias de calor extremo vigentes en los condados de Los Ángeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino y San Diego, con máximas de hasta 114°F en zonas desérticas.

Los empleadores están obligados por ley a proteger a los trabajadores de enfermedades por calor — en interiores y exteriores:

💧 Agua fresca
🌳 Sombra o áreas frescas (obligatorio en exteriores cuando supera los 80°F)
⏸️ Descansos

📋 Plan de prevención por escrito + capacitación

Cal/OSHA is reminding employers: triple-digit temps are hitting SoCal this week. Heat advisories and extreme heat watches are in effect across LA, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties, with highs up to 114°F in desert areas.
Employers are legally required to protect workers from heat illness — indoors and outdoors:

💧 Fresh water
🌳 Shade/cool-down areas (required outdoors above 80°F)
⏸️ Rest breaks
📋 Written prevention plan + training

Extra protections kick in at 95°F+ for outdoor ag, construction, landscaping, oil/gas extraction, and heavy-material transport.
