October is Adopt a Dog Month! 5 Things We Can All Do to Help

1. If you have been thinking of getting a dog, check out your local shelter, and you will probably fall in love with a dog who really needs a home. If you are ready for a new dog, don't wait. Go to the shelter now.

2. Donate to a local shelter or rescue facility. Thousands of dogs are saved each year by these organizations, which often rely on donations and volunteers to save dogs from risky situations and homelessness.

3. If you have a dog and cannot adopt another, be extra kind to your pooch this month and treat them like royalty. Dogs have good spirits and deserve the best.
