When I choose to quiet all the noise, I find HIM peacefully present there, waiting on me to join Him in the quiet.

I Asked ChatGPT to create a picture of what it thinks I look like… and this is what it gave me. 🤨

What do you think?

Today I took a rest day, cause my soul needed it, even though I still have a long to-do list.

Sometimes I find it hard to rest. I’ve lived in a way that’s taught my nervous system that rest is unsafe. When I try to rest, my mind and body freak out, driving me to go do something and be productive.

I’ve unhealthily tied my value to work. I’ve felt like if I’m not doing something productive, then I’m not valuable. I’ve been spending the last few years undoing this deeply ingrained belief. It’s not just a cognitive belief it’s one deeply rooted in my body.

It’s the real deep work of learning how to rest in the arms of the Good Shepherd, knowing I’m deeply loved despite performance and productivity. I’m learning presence is enough, His presence is enough for me, and my presence is enough for Him.

I’ve burned myself out trying to work for God instead of just being with God.

I’m definitely nowhere near mastering rest and probably never will, but I am way more content with just being with God than doing anything for Him.

Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann says Sabbath is the resistance we are invited into, resisting and breaking free from the powers of Pharaoh and empire that seek to work us to death.

Moving into rest is an act of worship and surrender, saying: God, You will take care of me.

Take a moment—where in your life might God be inviting you to rest?

Why Your Prayer Feels Like Panic—And How to Abide #Prayer #faith 08/02/2025

I had the privilege of sharing this message at the 2025 Watchman conference, where I walked through a season of grief and panic in prayer—and discovered a new way to abide in Christ’s peace.

In the video I unpack:
• Why our prayers so often feel out of control
• How Jesus’ own struggle in Gethsemane shows us the path from panic to rest
• Simple steps you can take today to pray from a place of trust, not fear

If you’ve ever felt your heart racing when you pray, this one is for you. Watch the full message and let me know in the comments what stood out most to you. 🙏✨

As I discern how much change has happened in my life over the last few years, I become more aware of the One who cannot change, but changes everything He comes in contact with. Nothing happens to God, but He happens to everything. He is the instigator and agitator of change. He makes water into wine, shepherds into kings, and me into only God knows what 🤪

Relationships are fascinating.
Someone who once had full access to your inner world; they know your fears, dreams, heart, can move to stranger status. Zero access.

And yet… the acquaintances? They stay exactly where they were. No closer. No further. Somehow, they end up with more access than the ones who once had full access.

That shift fascinates me.
From closest… to furthest.

This morning, I watched God move so deeply that half the room was in tears.

As I stood there, I felt the weight of something I’ve been learning on my own healing journey, something I’ll probably be learning for the rest of my life:

We cannot take people to places we haven’t gone ourselves. We can’t give what we don’t have.

If we’re called to stand before God’s people, gifting alone isn’t enough. We must also seek wholeness.

Because the people we serve don’t need more brokenness disguised as charisma.

They need the overflow of a life that’s been healed, humbled, and held by God.

This morning, I shared about being held by God, how He is a safe place to fall apart, because He has the capacity to hold us and heal us.

And I watched Him do just that… hold people, right there in the room.

Today, we celebrate Ash Wednesday the first day of lent—a time to deeply connect with our human condition, remembering that we are but dust. It is a time of intentionally reorienting our hearts toward God, removing the distractions that steal our attention from Him, and returning to a place of focus and connection.

This is not something typically observed in most Pentecostal and charismatic circles, but its roots run deep in Christian tradition. The deeper my faith grows, the more I find nourishment in the ancient ways. The Ancient One is at the center of the ancient path!

In this season of life, I’ve found that God’s call is more about going deeper than going out. I have less to say to the nations and more to hear in the inner chambers of my own soul. The more I understand, the less I feel the need to speak.

At this point, I’m just waiting for the ‘aliens confirmed’ headline to drop so we can complete the bingo card. 2025, please take deep breaths and reconsider your choices.

DC’s air tragedy… This impacts all of us in ways you might not be fully aware of 😔.

Today, I’m praying for:
▪️ The families living their worst nightmare,
▪️ The heroes sorting through the wreckage,
▪️ You—if this tragedy’s left you feeling raw or uneasy.

Lord, meet us in these places. 🙏💔
We’re in this together. Drop a 🕊️ if you’re praying with me.
