🏈 MEET THE COACHES | COACH TREY VAUT 🏈

Two years in the Nest. A lifetime of passion for sports. And a whole lot of Seahawk pride. 🦅💚🖤

Today, we’re excited to introduce Coach Trey Vaut, who is entering his 2nd year at South Walton!

Coach Vaut wears several hats around the Seahawk family. He serves as the Kicking Coach for Football, Head Coach for Boys Soccer, and Assistant Track Coach. He has been teaching and coaching at the high school level for 16 years.

Coach Vaut moved to South Walton from Rockwall, Texas, in July 2025. While he's originally from the Dallas area, he says the South Walton community has made him feel incredibly welcome.

And when it comes to his reason for coaching, Coach Vaut keeps it simple:

“Why not?”

Why not share his passion?
Why not pass along the lessons and tools that were once given to him?
Why not help young athletes discover just how far they can go?

For Coach Vaut, coaching is about much more than sports. It's about watching athletes sharpen their individual talents, learn to rely on one another, compete as a team, and grow into better-prepared people for the real world.

“Being able to supply information and tools that I was given to the youth that will help them reach their full potential is a blessing every day.”

And when Coach Vaut isn't on the field coaching, you'll probably find him on the sidelines cheering on his daughter as she plays soccer or dances at a football game. ❤️

When he gets some downtime, he enjoys spending time with his family on the water—whether that's at the pool, beach, or lake—along with watching movies, cooking, and exploring new things together.

After a successful season last year, Coach Vaut is ready to build on that momentum:

“I am super excited about this upcoming year, as there was so much success last year and I am ready to build from that.”

🏈 MEET THE COACHES | COACH TYLER BROOKS 🏈

New to the Nest. Experienced beyond the field.

Today, we’re excited to introduce Coach Tyler Brooks, who is entering his first season with the Seahawks as our Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator! 🦅💚🖤

Coach Brooks brings more than 8 years of coaching experience to the South Walton receiver room, including helping 10 wide receivers earn the opportunity to play college football at the next level.

But Coach Brooks' passion for coaching goes deeper than football.

His time in the Air Force helped shape his passion for service, leadership, and mentorship. Today, he believes God has called him to continue that mission by serving and mentoring young athletes.

“I owe my entire life to my mentors in the Air Force for not only allowing me to chase a passion to coach football but encouraging me every day to make sure I gave it my best shot.”

That mindset is at the heart of Coach Brooks' approach to recruiting. He believes every athlete who dreams of playing college football deserves the opportunity to pursue that dream, and he has dedicated his coaching career to building relationships with college coaches and creating opportunities for his players to reach the next level.

And when he's not on the football field or on the phone talking with college coaches, you'll probably find Coach Brooks enjoying his time on his jet ski or traveling in the fall to watch Auburn Football with his girlfriend—who, according to Coach Brooks, is way out of his league. 😂🧡💙

We're excited to have Coach Brooks in the Nest and can't wait to see the impact he'll make on our players both on the field and in their journey to the next level.

🏈 MEET THE COACHES | COACH HEDGES 🏈

New Coach. New Energy. Same Seahawk Mission. 🦅💚🖤

Today, we’re excited to welcome Coach Hedges to the South Walton Seahawk family!

Coach Hedges joins South Walton after serving as the Head Coach and Athletic Director at Emerald Coast Middle School in 2025. His coaching journey has taken him from Vernon High School in Washington County to Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, along with several years of coaching and teaching in Okaloosa County.

Since 2014, Coach Hedges has dedicated himself to education and coaching at both the middle and high school levels.

And his football journey started long before his coaching career. Coach Hedges played Division I football at the University of South Dakota and later coached at the collegiate level at Minnesota State University Mankato before beginning his career as an educator.

Now, he brings that experience, knowledge, and passion to South Walton Football.

But for Coach Hedges, it's not just about what happens between the lines.

“I am excited to be a part of the South Walton team in this role! Hoping to continue to develop our players on and off the field. Go Seahawks!”

That's what Seahawk football is all about—developing athletes, building character, creating relationships, and preparing young people for what comes next.

Coach Hedges and his wife, Tiffany, who is a teacher at South Walton High School, are raising three wonderful children: Rylee (18), Vivienne (9), and William (7). 💚

We are excited to have the Hedges family become part of our Seahawk family!

🏈 MEET THE COACHES | COACH MOORE 🏈

Today, we’re excited to introduce Coach Moore, entering his 4th season with the Seahawks and his 7th season coaching football!

Coach Moore wears a few hats around South Walton, and we’re lucky to have him in all of them. He serves as the Varsity Offensive Line Coach, Head Girls Weightlifting Coach, and teaches History at South Walton High School.

And if you know anything about football, you know the offensive line is where the work gets done. It takes toughness, discipline, trust, and a willingness to put the team before yourself—and Coach Moore brings that mindset to everything he does.

Away from the field and classroom, Coach Moore lives in Freeport, Florida, with his wife of five years, Celestine, and their two-year-old daughter, Ellison. 💚🖤

When Coach Moore talks about South Walton Football, it's clear that he sees something special happening here:

“We have established a foundation here and have an opportunity to be really special. The friendships and memories made with this coaching staff and players will go on long past our time here. Not much else you can ask for.”

And he's not shy about what's ahead:

“We have big plans for SOWAL Football, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

🦅 A foundation has been built. Now it's time to build on it.

🏈 MEET THE COACHES | COACH STEVE NOBLE 🏈

Today, we’re excited to introduce Coach Steve Noble, who is entering his 7th year as the Quarterbacks Coach for South Walton Football.

But Coach Noble’s impact reaches far beyond the football field. In addition to coaching quarterbacks, he serves South Walton as a School Counselor, Assistant Athletic Director, and Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach.

For Coach Noble, coaching is about much more than wins, losses, or what happens on game night. His greatest passion is using the opportunity God has given him to make a difference in the lives of young men and women.

“I believe that God has put me into a position as a coach so that I can be a positive influence on young men and women in all aspects of life—not just the athletic side of it. That’s where my passion lies.”

Football and lacrosse have both played a meaningful role in Coach Noble’s own life, and today he has the opportunity to give back through the very sports that have given him so much.

For him, coaching is about building character, developing confidence, creating relationships, and helping young people become the best version of themselves—on the field and in life.

🏈 MEET THE COACHES | COACH PHIL TISA 🏈

Today, we’re proud to introduce a coach who has dedicated more than two decades to South Walton High School and the young men and women who call themselves Seahawks.

Coach Phil Tisa is entering his 22nd year at South Walton High School and his 15th year as Head Football Coach and Athletic Director. Over the years, he has coached football, softball, wrestling, and soccer—giving countless student-athletes his time, leadership, and passion for the Seahawk family.

But for Coach Tisa, coaching has always been about something much bigger than wins and losses.

“I view coaching as being in the kid business. I hope our players develop into good husbands, fathers, and men.”

That philosophy says so much about the kind of coach he strives to be and the impact he hopes to have long after the players leave the field.

Outside of South Walton athletics, Coach Tisa enjoys spending time with his wife, A.K., and their daughter, Ella. When he's not coaching, you'll likely find him boating with his family, cooking, watching the Braves, or gaming.

And when asked what it means to be a Seahawk, Coach Tisa says it best:

“I love being a Seahawk! Outsiders don't understand this place I call home. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We are blessed.”

More than 200 colleges and universities participate in the Florida Tour, giving students the opportunity to connect, ask questions, explore programs, and start thinking about what their future could look like after high school.

And it’s not just for South Walton students — students from all Walton County School District schools and surrounding areas are welcome to attend.
