They deserve to have passions and down time to develop that passion. Parents, give your child the luxury of being a kid, with the opportunity to be elite. It’s a hard balance, but it is doable. The best way to foster that now is by putting them with coaches who will challenge them, but foster the love of the game. Eventually, your child will have to choose if they want to be great on their own, but the decisions you make now while you are in charge of their schedule sets them up for future success. Stop pressuring, stop lecturing. Start prioritizing health and dedication for yourself, model what discipline looks like. Get involved in the right programs. Cut out the things that you know are too much too soon, or causing additional stres on your family. We offer many classes and programs with amazing coaches that are be a great addition and foundation to your athletes journey - we’ve been to the highest levels and want to help others get there too, one step at a time.

Somewhere along the way we decided more games = more development. It’s backwards. Games are where you show what you built. The offseason is where you build it.

What burnout actually looks like:
    -Stops asking to go hit
    -Fine in practice, flat in games
    -Sore arm he doesn’t mention anymore
    -“I don’t care” after a bad AB
What a real offseason looks like:
    -Real rest from throwing
    -Strength work that fits his age and stage
    -Skill work with a plan, not just reps
    -Time to be a kid

The kids who make it aren’t the ones who played the most. They’re the ones who were still healthy, still confident, and still hungry at 17.
