Brian Wilson was an icon. A legend. A songwriting, arrangement and production genius.
Growing up in Norway, the U.S. felt very far away - until I’m in LA working with some of the biggest American artists, past and present - one of which was Brian Wilson.
Helping with his "Smile" album and Christmas album "What I Really Want For Christmas," was great fun. Everything from licensing to securing signed talent release forms warranted a Thank You in the liner notes - and a "Smile" gold record to boot.
One day I had to get Brian to sign a couple of guitars for an auction. Brian Wilson walked out of his home in his robe and put the guitars I had brought on top of two garbage bins right there on the sidewalk. When you’ve written some of the greatest songs of all time, you can pretty much do what you want, and that day, he didn’t feel like inviting me in.

I’m grateful for having met him, met with him several times and worked with him - and also his now departed second wife Melinda.

When film composer, songwriter and producer Jamie Christopherson was tasked with composing a theme song for a new Hulu series, he called me and asked if I could find him a great music producer and a talented female artist to collaborate with. It so happened that I had met Bendik Møller for coffee a few weeks earlier, and I was already a fan of Bendik’s work with Maryon King. One thing led to another, and after an initial Zoom-meeting, Jamie, Bendik and Maryon met to write the song. The series ‘How I Escaped My Cult’ is now out and has climbed to number 3 on Hulu, featuring the beautiful theme song "Monsters In The Light" by Jamie, Bendik and Maryon.

The making of this song is a true Hollywood story in itself! ✨
