We wanted to get involved in the community when we first moved to Santa Maria in 2000. In 2001 we volunteered with the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, we became Board members in 2002. We've always enjoyed attending both fun and benefit runs and suddenly realized that there were no local runs to benefit the children in our area. The SMV Bike Run was a huge success, raising funds that allowed us to purchase 141 bicycles with helmets and 382 toys. Special thanks to everyone who lent a hand, especially those with trucks and trailers, in delivering these gifts to the Vets Center.
