Sustainable goods sourced locally and globally. Santa Fe H**p is a family-owned business. We opened in 1997, on a push-cart at Sanbusco Center and we've been at our current location since 1999.
We carry h**p, organic cotton, wool, and other natural fibers. We always try to have a good selection of books, tree-free paper, music, art, jewelry, and crafts. We are currently expanding our selection of locally-made goods. We buy Fair Trade and/or sustainable products, whenever possible.
Operating as usual
We will be closed today and tomorrow so that we can count our inventory.

New items in the shop this month!
These sweet garlands (/banners/buntings) are made by upcycling baby board books destined for a landfill. Each set is unique and no two will be identical. Reusable forever.
Check out more items from the makers @atticjournals, or see them up close in our shop. We also have their wicked upcycled journals!
The garlands are available on our website, while you’re getting your hemp/cotton tees, natural soaps, organic cotton socks, or a shiny new hemp shoulder bag.
We’ll be closing early today, at 5:30.
Open tomorrow at 10 am.
Our website is back, with some added changes and more to come! 💚

"Our New Green Revolution springtime pre-party is over, but the growing season is just beginning. This fall, when we bring in the sheaves, they will be of hemp. Then we’ll have a harvest hoedown to follow up. My Anishinaabe Agriculture Institute farm was the site of the pre-party in mid-May of 2021. My organization Winona’s Hemp anchored it. Oglala Lakota hemp farmer Alex White Plume co-hosted the educational event." Read more on this week's LTH featured article via the link in bio! 👆🏼

Happy Earth Day!
On this day, we like to remember the impact one woman had on the modern environmental movement. Rachel Carson’s most famous book, Silent Spring, drew awareness and attention to the misuse and impact of chemical pesticides, as well as the looming environmental crisis of her day. Her work inspired the establishment of the annual celebration we call Earth Day.

Brooke & Adelyn (Albuquerque, NM) creates block prints and hand-stamps each onesie. So sweet! Fox kits, the New Mexico map, and the world inside a Zia.

We’ll be open on Wednesday, December 23, from 11am until 4 pm. We will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We have water bottle slings made by local Susan Todd. Each one is unique, because each one is made using upcycled fabric swatches and remnants that might have gone into a landfill. (There are so many choices!) They’re big and roomy to accommodate different sizes (and shapes) of bottles. There is a pocket and a clasp for your keys. The strap (made with new materials) is long and adjustable. Great for keeping water close at hand while keeping your hands free!
If you would like to reserve one here, message us with a color scheme you might be interested in and we’ll send you photos. You can then go to the website and complete your purchase. Just select the design option “I’ve reserved one” and add it to your cart.
We’ve also added the option “Surprise me!” and we’ll pick a nice one for you.

The Contemporary Clay Fair is virtual this year! Each participating artist is offering their work through their own shop/gallery, website, and/or social media.
These are just some of the pieces made by Kathleen Savage (owner of SFH) that we have in the shop and available on our site. More will be available online later today and tomorrow.

All of my pottery is handbuilt and handcarved using white stoneware clay. I decorate the surface with a technique called sgraffito (Italian for "scratch"). A layer of slip is applied while the clay is not yet dry, but leather-hard. Using various tools I carve through the slip to reveal the clay. Most pieces are glazed on the inside only, and are oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
New Mexico has entered a two-week period of shelter-in-place, so we will be closed to in-store shopping until at least December 1. We hope to resume appointment-based shopping in December, but we'll have to see how Santa Fe County is doing by the end of this mandated "reset."
We will continue to fill orders from our website, and have them ready for you to pick up at the door, and of course to ship directly to your home.
Until further notice, we will have orders ready for contactless pickup on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 12 pm - 2 pm.
We will also be shipping orders on those days.
Please visit our website for more details and for directions on how to place your order for pick-up. (Everything you will need to know is about half way down the homepage of our website.)
Thank you SO MUCH for your patience, kindness, and continued support! 💚
