Adaptive Sports Program New Mexico

Adaptive sports folks: In time for Veterans Day, I wanted to share a big feature story I wrote about Andy Chavez, 2019's athlete of the year and Iraq vet. Most of you know and have been inspired by Andy and his story for years.

Please enjoy and share around the adaptive and veteran community.
Hi. When will your summer schedule be out?
Hi All my Adaptive Sports Family. About 2 years ago I was sitting on my couch, thinking I would never ski again. I have had both hips replaced. This program has made my life better. Now i can ski, climb walls, raft, and Kayak. Better yet I have made new friends. A big thanks to everyone that has assisted me on my journey. Respectfully Jim Hungerford

Hi! How does the adaptive program work with siblings? Interested in signing my daughter up for ski lessons for 2 half days. Could her brother also learn to snowboard there or would my husband take him elsewhere on the mountain? Our children are newly 6 and 8. Thanks!!
where is the ABQ ski swap?
Thank you for the best weekend of our lives!

We are heartbroken to share the news that our dear friend, Andrew Casados, passed away recently after a long battle with liver disease. Andrew volunteered with the ASPNM ski program for 22 years. Throughout those years, Andrew could always be counted on to be one of the first to arrive on the mountain, excited to share his love of skiing with ASPNM athletes and his fellow volunteers. Andrew always had a warm smile for everyone, and often shared how blessed he felt to be on the mountain amongst friends. We hope everyone will take a moment on the slopes to think of Andrew and appreciate his many contributions to ASPNM. He will be dearly missed by the ASPNM family, and we are wishing his family peace and comfort during this difficult time. A celebration of Andrew's life will be held at a later date.
