In these uncertain political times, we have to celebrate our victories. And we are still reveling in last Friday's announcement of the Caja del Rio Protection Act being filed and the community celebration that followed of the Caja's history and culture.

Join us on the land Friday, May 8 for a special community celebration of the Caja del Rio! Come connect with the landscape, enjoy lunch together, and take part in afternoon activities surrounded by one of Northern New Mexico’s most treasured open spaces.

🌞 Activities: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This Friday we are celebrating the history, the culture, and the landscape of the Caja del Rio!
There will be music, speakers, guided hikes, a history of the area, and craft activities for everyone. Lunch will be delicious and is on us - so come out and celebrate the , a place like no other on this earth.

Just outside of , the Caja del Rio is approximately 107,000 acres of culturally and ecologically rich landscape. From dramatic geologic features and diverse wildlife to millennia-old petroglyphs and Pueblo cultural resources, to traditional Spanish land grant communities, to the original path of the modern day Route 66 - the Caja del Rio is a true treasure of the Southwest United States.

Join us this Friday to celebrate this treasure! Featuring traditional Indigenous and Hispano performances, distinguished speakers, youth activities, hikes, lectures, and lunch is provided!
