Our hearts go out to the people who have lost their homes to the horrendous fires now taking place in Southern California. The Central Coast is also vulnerable to these fast spreading wildfires during this warm, dry and windy period. Any one living in the mountains please take the time to prepare. This includes:

- Making a list of valuables and their location for quick evacuation.

- Create a "Go bag" of essential items like medications, copies of important documents and clothing to get you through a couple of days at least.

I hope that we don't need to use these preparations, but based on my personal experience with the CZU fire, they helped tremendously.

Warning only extends south as far as Davenport.

Reports say tsunami will reach SF Bay by 12:10

The Pacific, the North American, and the Juan de Fuca plates make up the Triple Junction (marked by the red lines), which is a tectonic plate convergence zone.
