Share the Love: Protecting Vision This February Throughout February, we recognized Black History Month — a time to reflect on the leaders and pioneers whose contributions have shaped medicine and expanded access to care.

02/25/2026

This February, EyePACS proudly celebrates Black History Month — a time to recognize the achievements, resilience, and lasting contributions of Black leaders, innovators, clinicians, and communities who have shaped healthcare and advanced equity across our nation.

Health equity remains a critical priority. Black communities are disproportionately affected by conditions such as diabetes and vision-threatening diseases, including diabetic retinopathy. Expanding access to early detection and quality care is essential to closing these gaps.

This month — and every month — we reaffirm our dedication to building a more equitable healthcare system where everyone has access to sight-saving care.

This Safer Internet Day, we’re highlighting how secure telehealth makes a real difference in eye care. EyePACS enables safe upload and transmission of retinal images for thorough review by our certified consultants.

Early detection of diabetic retinopathy is powerful when data privacy comes first.

Our mission is simple: to protect and preserve vision through proactive, accessible, family-centered eye care. And that mission starts early—especially with children.

This holiday season, we’re reminding families that safe play leads to healthy eyes. Thousands of toy-related eye injuries occur every year, but nearly all of them are preventable with the right choices.

Here are a few tips to keep your child’s vision safe while they enjoy their new gifts:
🔹 Choose toys appropriate for your child’s age
🔹 Avoid toys with sharp edges or projectiles
🔹 Look for safety-certified products
🔹 Encourage toys that support visual development—books, puzzles, building sets
🔹 Supervise playtime with new toys
