This project was a true Love Child for us due to the extreme challenges of designing and building a 4 bedroom/3 bath vacation home on a TINY lot in the 🩵 of …however, the trust of most excellent contractor & developers + and creative freedom they allowed made this a collaborative adventure! 🙌🏠🌊 Literally every Detail from the floor plan and exterior styling to the furnishings and landscaping was thoughtfully discussed, considered and often mocked up as the house took shape and guided us through its birth. 🦪🫶

When Form & Function light up the room! 🌞 So this spot is a high traffic/hangout area in our home that constantly drove us 🤪 because of all the foot scuffs on the wood inset behind the counter stools (being designers, we’re a wee bit picky about stuff like that 😂). So a few years ago we decided we’d add tile to solve the problem... except that we couldn’t find a tile we loved for such a visual area. 👀 But we finally did & Voila...we’re pattern-twitted!🤩 Swipe left to see the before!👆

So grateful to share our lives & homes with fur babies. 🐶🐱 Living with pets is living with joy, mess, humor, fear and gratitude...their pure and simple ways of interacting with the world grounds and teaches us. 🙌🏼 A few months ago, we lost little Ollie, the beautiful gray kitty in the last pic. 😔 Then Charlie the labradoodle came to live with us in July. ☺️Yesterday, our daughter’s Labrador, Pie, got lost briefly in Santa Cruz and we were all panicked. ❤️ These dear creatures weave themselves into the fiber of our souls...they nurture and inspire us more than we know. A little more mess in your house? Worth it. 🙏🏻💫
