Plastic never dies: the museum of vintage waste โ€“ in pictures 12/01/2022

"Plastic pollution does not perish."

That's the alliterative takeaway from this beautiful and disturbing collection of photographs, showing more than 200 plastic artifacts found on beaches โ€“ some dating back to the 1960s.

The images are fascinating. The message, depressing. More plastic is going into the water every day. However, we can stop this process. The 2NFORM Trash Compliance module is designed to help municipalities keep trash out of the water. We can do better.

Plastic never dies: the museum of vintage waste โ€“ in pictures The Archeoplastica project exhibits more than 200 artefacts found on beaches, from retro toys to decades-old detergent bottles. As countries gather to begin to negotiate an international plastics treaty, the collection highlights the disturbing fact that plastic pollution does not perish

The architect making friends with flooding 11/30/2022

Flooding and stormwater management are problems worldwide. The impervious surfaces in our cities block the natural water cycle. Chinese landscape designer Yu Kongjian has a big vision to "heal the natural hydrology."

Check out this article to be inspired by what big thinking about water management can do to transform modern cities. The pictures alone are amazing.

And if you're interested by Yu's "computational geography," which shows how water behaves within the built environment, get in touch. We'd love to show you how 2NFORM, built on Esri's ArcGIS, can show how water moves through your built environment, and how that understanding can help your stormwater management, for less pollution, less flooding, and greater climate resilience.

The architect making friends with flooding One Chinese landscape designer has pioneered a new approachโ€”working with water instead of trying to bend it to our will.

Today โ€” and every day โ€” we're grateful for stormwater heroes.

The stormwater managers, town clerks, sustainability coordinators, field inspectors, and more who work behind the scenes in every municipality to improve water quality for their communities through stormwater management.

City of Salinas: Developing a Collaborative Relationship with Stormwater Regulators 11/03/2022

Too often, state water regulators and MS4 permit holders act like theyโ€™re opponents โ€” but theyโ€™re actually trying to achieve the same goal.

In Salinas, CA, one stormwater manager decided to change that dynamic and partner with her regulators, using 2NFORM as a trusted tool to facilitate conversation. Here's what happened next: https://bit.ly/3DsY0ZU

If You Donโ€™t Already Live in a Sponge City, You Will Soon 10/17/2022

'Round these parts, we call that green stormwater infrastructure. And we love it!

But here's the thing: all structural stormwater assets, green or grey, need maintenance to keep on working at full capacity. Keeping track of all the structural assets in a city is difficult, and most only check in regularly on a few, which they hope are a representative sample.

With 2NFORM, cities can map ALL of their structural stormwater assets on an interactive map (built on Esri ArcGIS), categorize them according to our useful system, and see, based on color coding, which assets require work.

A small investment in software can keep these big investments in structural assets functioning โ€” and let them do their important work for the long term.

Protecting a County From Flood Impacts, with Stormwater Software 10/14/2022

Proactive, intelligent stormwater management can reduce flood impacts.

The brutal fact is, we're getting more and more intense rain because of climate change โ€” and that means more flooding. The time to invest in better stormwater management is now, so you can build climate resilience for your community, protect property, and most important, save lives.
