OVA is a dance collective that integrates self-generative movement and speech to deepen vulnerable connection with one another and strengthen an ensemble bond.
From this fertile ground of improvisation and group connectivity, choreography develops as a natural accumulation of movement, ideas, and relationships. This is the essence of what OVA calls generative, bottom-up, choreography. Rather than working down from a broad and possibly static image of a final piece, OVA builds off of what specifically they have created by engaging in our continual practic
We are excited to announce that Arts Council Santa Cruz County is funding our upcoming work, which is to be performed at Motion Pacific in early March! We are super grateful and appreciative that they are supporting our project. Thank you artists Michael Zana and Richie Villa for your contributions in making this happen!
