Today was definitely Ruby & Artie's day. π΄
For reasons known only to Ruby, she spent much of Pilates class drawn to Artie.
Some days the horses choose to be right in the middle of class. Other days they're content to graze under the oaks.
That's part of the magic of being in the pasture at Beyond Liberty. The horses, chickens, Happy the cat, and Leo have the freedom to choose if, when, and how they wish to engage, allowing each moment to unfold.
Join us for Yoga in the Pasture tomorrow at noon. We'd love to see you there. π

π Before you head back to the classroom, take a day for yourself.
Join us on July 25 for a restorative workshop designed specifically for teachers. Spend the day immersed in Tai Chi, Qigong, mindfulness, nature, and the grounding presence of horses.
Led by longtime educator & mindful movement practioneer Rob Owen, you'll gain science-based tools for stress reduction, nervous system regulation, and well-beingβtools you can carry with you into the fall and bring back to your classroom.
This isn't just professional development. It's an investment in your own well-being.
Know a teacher who could use this? Gift them a day of restoration and renewal - teacher appreciation shouldn't be limited to one day in May. β€οΈ

π΄ Volunteer Applications Open
Looking for a meaningful way to support horses?
We are currently accepting volunteer applications for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of horses by helping care for the spaces they call home.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
β’ Mucking, raking, watering
β’ Filling and hanging hay nets
β’ Cleaning water buckets
β’ Property stewardship
β’ General sanctuary and program support
Please note: These are not horse-handling positions (i.e. grooming, walking, training).
Because our horses live at liberty and our work is rooted in a consent-based philosophy, volunteers participate in a thoughtful onboarding and training process designed to help everyone understand our mission, approach, and the unique role horses play within our community.

Together, we create connection, community, and well-being β through the voice of the horse. π΄
π΄ Meaningful work. Fresh air. A shared purpose.
At Beyond Liberty, volunteers support the well-being of the horses through stewardship of the spaces they call home while learning about horse behavior, herd dynamics, safety, and equine body language.
Volunteer opportunities focus on supporting the horses through stewardship of their environment and do not include direct horse-handling activities (such as grooming, walking, training, or leading horses).
Applications are now open for our next volunteer training program beginning in August.

"Excuse me... do you have a license to operate that machine in my pasture?" π€¨π΄
Ruby takes her role as Chief Curiosity Officer (CCO) very seriously. Every new vehicle, visitor, wheelbarrow, and suspicious object entering the pasture is subject to inspection.
When a utility vehicle entered her pasture, curious Ruby immediately reported for inspection duty. Credentials were checked. Sniff test completed. Vehicle approved. Volunteer Sherry approved.
While moments like these are part of life at Beyond Liberty, volunteering here is about much more than spending time with horses.
It's about showing up.
Getting your hands dirty.
Supporting programs.
Maintaining facilities.
Building community.
Helping create connection, community, and well-being through the voice of the horse.
π΄ Volunteer applications are open.
Volunteer opportunities are limited. Start by spending time with us and learning about our work, our horses, and the unique role they play in creating connection, community, and well-being.

Grief.
Sometimes it just needs company.
Today, Melody and Ruby stood nearby as our circle gathered beneath the oaks.
Just presence. π΄
Thank you to Chaplain Ore Ganin-Pinto and Grief Coach Constance Blake for holding space with such care.
To learn more about Grief & Grace and upcoming gatherings, visit beyondliberty.org/grief.
Grief can feel isolating.
Sometimes what we need most is a place where we don't have to explain, fix, or carry it alone.
Grief & Grace is a gentle gathering for those navigating loss, change, caregiving, illness, transitions, or the many forms grief can take. Together, we create space to reflect, share (if you wish), and simply be in the company of others who understand.
Held in a peaceful outdoor setting among horses living at liberty, these gatherings invite participants to slow down, reconnect, and find support in community, nature, and presence.
Upcoming Gatherings:
π΄ June 19 | 12β2 PM
π΄ July 31 | 12β2 PM
π΄ August 21 | 12β2 PM
Facilitated by Chaplain Ore Ganin-Pinto and Constance Blake.
