OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our name is the collaboration of two words, Design meaning "the act of creating" and Ology coming from the greek word logos, meaning the "study of". The interior design world is constantly growing and changing around us. There is always something new to be learned, discovered and created. We feel that an interior designer's education is never truly finished and because of that we n

Summer is quickly approaching!

I can’t wait for summer to slowly kill me with its basted heat 😂😂😂 Yes I’m a fall and winter gal but alas every year this sweltering madness descends on me. All I can do is brace myself and turn on the A/C.

What are your plans for summer?

Speakeasy meets Whimsy! I can’t wait to get our Skyridge project professionally photographed but for now the photo from our client will have to do.

Galley kitchens get a bad rap! They are long and usually narrow kitchen spaces that originate from ships and planes. This designer loves them because they are an efficient use of storage and if made wide enough allow multiple people to be in them at the same time.

No matter your space just make sure to plan your zones and storage well!

This galley kitchen we did for our Webster House project has everything and more. The crazy heights were both a plus and a challenge but we made it work.

When you look at my feed you will see beautiful pretty things as all designers have on their instagram. What you won’t see often on mine or others though is the ugliness of the world and there is a lot of it.

What I’d like to believe is that we hide that because we do understand people get overwhelmed or deeply saddened. However today, what I want to make clear is that while I will post pretty things I deeply care about what is happening to Palestinians, Iranians, Ukrainians, all immigrants in the US being persecuted whether here legally or not and everyone all over the world caught in the middle of wars and fights that typically only benefit the wealthy.

I care about people no matter your culture, background, religion…etc. especially those who live honest and loving lives and help others when they can! It’s why I do this job. I want people to be safe and to help them!

So respectfully if I lose followers by posting this, that’s ok! I would rather have my village be those that strive to make this world a better place than we found it.

This artwork is from the amazing digital artist and the second slide gives you details. I just bought his book and others should too. It’s really incredible and humbling!

“The details are not the details. They make the design.” — Charles Eames

Sometimes in design focusing on small, often overlooked aspects is crucial for achieving high-quality results, as they often matter as much or more than the overall picture. Don’t over look the details.

It’s hard to post pretty home photos when there is so much unhappiness, violence and general turmoil in the US. Instead I share with you my wonderful team. We are small but mighty.

Thank god I have them because lately I’ve been getting sad thinking our job doesn’t matter but they remind me that we create spaces that make people happy and in times like these we all need those spaces to renew. Spread kindness, joy and laughter!

If you have room for a mudroom do it! This one pulls triple duty as a secondary entrance, laundry room and seating space attached to the kitchen. I love a room with multiple functions!

Say it with me…Commerical Office spaces don’t need to be boring!

We added some pop and fun to office in downtown Venturas with a brand coordinating blue for all doors, trims and built-ins, added LVP flooring for better functionality and durably, added a green wall to the entry, fun lighting and cozy furnishings and paired it with curated photographs of Ventura that one of the owners commissioned.

Functiinality can be fun too and work shouldn’t be a place of torture.
