Found Cat: This calico was found injured last night on Rosario Dr near San Martin Way in Santa Barbara, CA. A Good Samaritan took her to AVS Emergency and she was just transferred to ASAP.

🚨 ASAP needs your help to support Lola! 🚨 Lola is a sweet 5-year-old cat in need of assistance after surviving vehicular trauma, leaving her with a severely fractured pelvis.
Lola loves walking around her community, regularly strolling door to door, lawn to lawn. She is known in her neighborhood for being extremely friendly, personable, and adorable as can be. She's loved by everyone she meets.
It's all the more heartbreaking that her owners needed to surrender her due to her expensive treatment: our Wellness team estimates her corrective surgery will cost around $7,000.
She currently has minimal stability due to the pelvic fracture, which could lead to further complications if not corrected such as chronic constipation and gastrointestinal issues. Lola is currently receiving pain medications and plenty of love at the shelter, but we want nothing more than to see this sweet kitty happy and healthy once more.

Found Cat: Senior male, with signs that he recently had a surgical procedure. Found on Carpinteria Ave near Holly Ave in Carpinteria, CA. First seen in that area yesterday, 9/22.

Hi ASAP friends! We're reaching out to help a community member rehome a cat in the Santa Barbara area. Please read the description below from her current caretaker:
"Willow is a stray cat we’ve been caring/fostering. She is now spayed, microchipped, and has received her basic veterinary care. She has been tested for FeLV and FIV (negative), received her rabies and FVRCP vaccine, de-wormed for roundworms and tapeworms, and treated for fleas. We also have extensive medical records documenting her care and are happy to provide everything.
A little about her:
Name: Willow
Age: Approximately 1 year (maybe less)
S*x: Female
Personality: Playful, curious, gentle, and shy
Other: Unknown if she gets along with other cats and/or dogs, had 2 kittens recently (they've been homed), no known biting or aggressive history
She is ready for adoption. We’re happy to provide additional photos, medical records, and any additional information you may need."

🧡 Getting to Know Romeo 🧡
(an excerpt from our Summer 2026 newsletter)
After being surrendered to a local shelter following the passing of his owner, Romeo was transferred to us in need of some serious behavior training. Scared, defensive, and constantly on edge, he refused to come out of his in-cage kennel for the first few weeks in our care. Our team patiently (and carefully) gave him food and monitored his behavior, and after a month at our shelter, we decided to try giving Romeo more space.
Our team moved him into one of our open-air runs and over the course of the next few months, Romeo started to improve. Noticing he was initially still skittish, our Behavior team gradually entered the run and got him accustomed to being in proximity to people. Next, we tried initiating play, offering treats and slowly gauging his interests.
Following this pattern for a few weeks, Romeo eventually would approach our team for touch on his own terms. After being with ASAP for over five months, Romeo has become a confident and loving cat. He enjoys looking directly at humans and chattering as if to initiate conversation, and is curious of other cats and likes to be around them.
All that’s left for Romeo is to leave ASAP’s shelter. We believe he is ready to set down roots in his own home with his own bed and his own family. Stop by ASAP Cats during public hours, or visit him at our Adoption Event this Saturday 10am-3pm!

You might notice that these kitties wiggle & groove when they move 🕺🪩 These kittens have cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a non-progressive and pain-free neurological condition. It is also known as “Wobbly Cat Syndrome.”
When a pregnant cat is exposed to a virus such as panleukopenia, her kittens may be born with an underdeveloped cerebellum (the balance and coordination center of the brain) 🧠 Cats with CH are not infectious.
Symptoms such as head tremors and discoordination become apparent when they try to walk or stand 🌀 Although there isn’t a cure, their condition does not worsen over time. Cats with CH can live happy & healthy lives!
