This summer, free lunch is available for children ages 0-18 from Monday, June 15th, through Friday, August 7th, at the Central Library through Lunch at the Library with the support of SB Unified and the California State Library.

Do you have precious photographs you’d love to get digitized but don’t know where to start? How many times has your child brought home beautiful school artwork that you wished you could keep, but simply didn’t have the space? No worries, bring them to us!

You're invited to have your paper-based materials carefully digitized by library staff, with originals returned and digitized versions saved on a USB Drive.

Materials drop off period: Monday, June 22 through Saturday, June 27 at Eastside Library during open hours!

Join us for a limited series of Photo Walk Club! Each session, we will focus on a theme or prompt and get creative by taking photos while exploring the city. All experience levels - from seasoned professional to absolute beginner - are welcome and no expertise is required.

Meet under the Poppy Mural on Library Plaza and then we will begin our walk.

Remember to bring:
-Something portable to take photos with (a smartphone, digital or film camera, polaroid, etc.)
-Comfortable walking shoes
-Sun protection
-Water
-Anything else you need to be comfortable.

After the session, submit your favorite photo(s) to be featured in SBPL’s end-of-summer community art gallery showing!

We're all FIRED up at SBPL for this year's Summer Reading!

Celebrate reading this summer by participating in Santa Barbara Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Program! Community members of all ages can sign up in person at the Central, Eastside, or Montecito Libraries, or at any Library on the Go stop. In addition to the reading challenge, the Library will host a full lineup of free programs and events for all ages throughout summer!

While supplies last, adults and teens can pick up a free zine, tote bag, and sticker sheet when they sign up for Summer Reading at tonight's Kickoff at Fox Wine!

Watch the U.S. Men's Team take on Team Paraguay National Football Team at this free, family-friendly event, live streamed on a state-of-the-art LED screen on Library Plaza. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics. Astroturf will be laid on the Plaza for extra comfort. The fun begins at 6pm and goes until the final whistle. Guests are invited to set up at 5pm (one hour before kick off). Join us again on June 25, for Team USA takes vs. Turkey!
