It's both exciting and bittersweet to announce that Sugar Cat Studio will no longer be accepting new orders. It's been a great 13 years, starting with selling cupcake wrappers on Etsy, to pairing cupcakes with wine at local wine tasting rooms, to WINNING Cupcake Wars, to filming a TV episode with Hailey Duff and Jonathan Bennett, to publishing a cupcake cookbook, and finally to launching my line of gourmet cupcake mixes. I'm so proud of my work and growth with Sugar Cat Studio and it gave me a new level of hustle that I now need with 3 kids under 5. Now I'm going to channel my baking energy towards dinners with friends and family, school bake sales, and general enjoyment. Thank you to everyone who supported Sugar Cat Studio! 💜

Anyone getting creative around the kitchen with pantry items? Leftover chili peppers? Throw them in a cupcake! These sweet and spicy carrot cake cupcakes were a fun (and actually delicious) baking experiment. What have you been experimenting with lately?

Tiramisu cupcake hack! Bake a batch of plain vanilla cupcakes (of course we recommend our Classic Vanilla mix)! After you take out the cupcakes while they are still hot, poke little holes in the top of each one with a fork. Then drizzle Kahlua or another coffee liqueur on top and let it soak in. Frost with my classic cream cheese frosting with a little more coffee liqueur mixed in for an extra punch! Dust with cocoa powder on top. YUM!

I'll admit... it's hard to stay motivated and productive these days... check out my interview with that I taped a few days before our shelter in place order. Baking with kids? You can add sparkling water to our pink champagne cupcakes instead of champagne! You'll still get that light, airy texture, and you can experiment with different flavored sparkling waters as well!

Is anyone else baking more than usual these days? I've been digging up old cookbooks and trying out new recipes, which has been pretty fun.... but I keep going back to old classics like chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin muffins. Tell me what you've been baking lately!
